Subsystems incorporate hardware RAID controllers with hot swappable disk drives, allowing RAID functionality to be added to systems, offering hot swap drives, redundancy and resilience. Transparent to the host operating system and requiring no drivers, they do not consume CPU cycles or memory bandwidth. Typical applications include small servers, industrial computing hardware and DVR / DAR for CCTV.
